How? By enabling detailed screening and monitoring of politically exposed persons (PEPs) and heightened individuals and entities.

Objective, thorough risk intelligence

Since 2000, World-Check has been used for KYC compliance and to help identify relationship, reputational, and AML/CFT risks by providing highly structured intelligence profiles of heightened risk individuals and entities globally.

Intelligence is sourced from hundreds of thousands of reputable sources in the public domain – and our researchers are bound to comply with strict research criteria and must remain objective at all times. This process is subject to thorough quality control procedures and is audited regularly.

  3. Batch Upload feature release

The World-Check One Batch Screening facility creates the ability to bulk upload batches of names in a secure cloud-based environment for screening during Know Your Customer (KYC) onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and rescreening cycles. The Case Manager tool enables efficient remediation and escalation of cases against the batch files and workflow can be customized to the organization’s needs.

    FLEXIBILITY
Users can set up custom batch groups with individual naming, enabling easy identification for re-screening at a later stage.
    DATA VALIDATION
To ensure data integrity during the batch upload process, the system checks the records for any inconsistencies.
    DATA UPDATES
Existing cases stored in the system can be updated by a subsequent batch upload to reflect changes in the source file. It is a similar process to the manual case edits, however it is performed by the system on large volumes of records.
    INITIAL & ONGOING SCREENING
Initial screening is immediately performed on all cases uploaded via batch. Individual cases within the batch file, or the entire batch file, may then be selected for ongoing screening.
    RULE SETTINGS
Rule settings for secondary identifiers can be applied to the cases created /updated by batch files, in keeping with the company’s risk based approach to screening.
    AUTO-RESOLVE
Groups of cases can be automatically resolved by taking advantage of the secondary matching rules. Auto-resolve reduces user intervention and saves time.
    CASE MANAGER
All cases are reviewed and managed using the Case Manager. Assign cases within a batch to different groups or teams. Cases can also be assigned using various filters e.g. batch name.
  4. Zero Footprint Screening feature release

World-Check One users can switch off the system’s tracking, ongoing screening, batch upload and audit trail functions during screening to ensure no permanent record of any such activity is retained on the Thomson Reuters servers. This capability is referred to as Zero Footprint Screening (ZFS).

    • No screening, name matching or filtering records – yet all basic reporting functionality retained
    • Easy to activate – turn on ZFS capability using the toggled ON/OFF button
    • Better managed workflow – to suit the organization’s workflow requirements, ZFS can be set for the whole account or specified user groups only

The ZFS capability enables users to shape their compliance programs that will keep them abreast of legislative changes in the regulatory compliance environment.

  5. Media Search feature release

Media Search is a free search application embedded within World-Check One. It canvasses a broad range of up-to-date news reports, much of which extends beyond the World-Check inclusion criteria, yet is still valuable to the organization by adding both background and context for better decision-making during remediation.

Our Media Search capability enables organizations to enhance compliance programs based on their specific screening policies.

    • Powered by Thomson Reuters NewsRoom: a collection of over 12,000 sources from specific countries, regions and industries from over 20 years of content including wires, blogs and breaking news
    • Supplementing World-Check sources: as part of their research process, the World-Check global research team currently includes intelligence collected from global media sources; Media Search extends the current reach to include NewsRoom content
    • Perform a Media Search on Case Names and/or World-Check profiles: perform a Media Search on an entity screened and/or on any World-Check profile (primary name)
    • Free of charge: the Media Search feature is a complimentary search available to all users
  6. GRC 20/20 award
